idea of a portable linux operating system for daily use
todo list:
- get a small team
- find out whats possible and whats not
- choose a distro/project to build onto/start with their ideas
features
- only one usb port should be used(*)
- fully encrypted as anti theft measure
- optimized for usb stick use (ro fs, persistent changes etc., like slax)
- X system, office, multimedia, development programs included
- full backup system: create data file on usb/network that can be used to replicate the whole system including user content
(*)hardware ideas:
- run from one stick, additional data on another
- make hardware with integrated usb hub and additional usb port(s)
- hardware with integrated card reader and usb hub
is there a chance to implement the boot and unencrypt system read only?
