EU Pirates Selfie

Dear European Pirates,

it would be great if you could spare 10 minutes of your time to contribute to a mega selfie. I want to create a large collage of selfies from all European local groups of pirates. So if you like the idea, please take a picture of yourself and your pirate friends following the instructions below, write some text and send me the picture online.

the picture

Take a picture of at least two pirates with your digital camera or with your phone. It should have a resolution of at least 1024px on the smaller side.

Please hold a white sheet of paper with the name of your home town written in large and bold letters. You're welcome to add additional information to the picture as far as the name of your home town is clearly readable and not too small in the picture.

the message

Send me also a personal message from you to the European people. The message should be short and precise and it would be nice if it would roughly fit into a tweet, i.e. about 140 characters, think you're familiar with that exercise :). But wait, I need your message twice:

• 1) Send me your message in your own language (you could also write it in a local dialect or other country specific style)
• 2) Send your message translated into English.

Please note: this message should not appear in the picture, 'cause I want to install it near your picture in the collage.

data delivery

There are several ways you can deliver your data. You can send us an email to

or you may upload your stuff to a server or cloud service like dropbox and send us the link/url via twitter to @schw0schl0 or @spreekaribik (please note, the Os are in fact zeros, just to be for sure).
